ABOUT US

The Casa Vision Eye Chart was first developed in the mid-1990s as a tool to assist with patients' vision care, focused on the early detection of eye disease and blurry vision. The online version of this eye chart is designed so that you can check your vision at home periodically between check-ups with your optometrists or as a tool to help you to recognize that you need to seek professional advice for your eye problems.

The greatest benefit of this eye chart is its ability to recognize eye problems associated with macular degeneration.

Casa Vision Inc. was founded in the mid 1990's and is located in Montreal, Canada and has grown in the last decade.

The CASA VISION SCREENER is a self testing vision chart, which was developed in response to a need in vision screening of the general population. Our aim was to encourage motorists and cyclists to regularly screen their vision for road safety.

The company's first project involved placing these screeners in all the pharmacy locations of the chain, Pharmaprix, throughout the province of Quebec. They were positioned in the waiting area adjacent to the prescription counter. The pharmacy now offered vision screening as well as its many other health services (ie. Blood pressure monitoring). Pfizer Canada was integral in sponsoring this project.

More recent projects included establishing the presence of these screeners in optical retail outlets throughout Quebec and Eastern Canada. Johnson & Johnson Vision Care endorsed this endeavor. With these charts strategically placed in the waiting area/frame room, ample opportunity was provided for passerby traffic to engage in self-testing.

The company looks forward to further growth in the coming year, involving new venues for visual screening.

Dr. Cianciullo is a graduate of the school of optometry at the University of Montreal.

As well as being president of Casa-vision Inc, he has had his own optometric practices in Montreal for the past 22 years.

Dr. David Yalovsky O.D.

Dr. David Yalovsky graduated from the City University School of optometry in London, England in 1980 and subsequently obtained his doctorate in optometry at the University of Montreal.

Since graduating in 1982 he has practiced optometry in Montreal as a partner at the firm Yalovsky & Yalovsky optometrists.

CASA-VISION SCREENER

Dr. Cianciullo and Dr. Yalovsky were strongly involved in the clinical study of the Casa-Vision screener.

The casa-vision screener is sensitive to vision changes resulting from pathological (i.e. disease) or physiological (i.e. aging) reasons.

Thus it will serve to help in the tracking of a disease process (i.e. diabetes, macular degeneration) by detecting the associated shifts in vision which are manifested during the course of the disease.
