Casa-Vision Eye Chart - the Online Vision Test for Macular Degeneration.
The Casa Vision Eye Chart is a tri-colored eye chart designed to detect physiologic or pathological changes in vision. It is comprised of a chart that displays black letters in one size snellen letters 20/40 (the minimum driving requirement) against yellow, red and green. As each of these colors refracts differently in the eye the observer is able to note changes in the clarity of words against the colored backgrounds and therefore detect changes in their vision.
In clinical studies, observers noted better clarity of words against a green background in patients with the early stages of wet AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration).
Casa Vision recommends that you use the chart regularly and in between visits to your practitioner to detect changes with your vision. The Casa-Vision Eye Chart screener is not a substitute for regular eye exams at the eye doctor.
Currently there are no treatments that can regain lost vision. As such it becomes essential to test your vision regularly to preserve as much of your remaining vision as you can.
